چکیده
This study investigates spatiotemporal changes in air pollution (particulate as well gases) during the COVID-19 lockdown period over major cities of Bangladesh. The investigated aerosol optical depth (AOD) from Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) onboard Terra and Aqua satellites, PM2.5 PM10 Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS), NO2 O3 TROPOMI-5P, March to June 2019–2020. Additionally, subtypes Cloud-Aerosol Lidar Infrared Pathfinder (CALIPSO) were used explore types. strict (26 March–30 May 2020) led a significant reduction AOD (up 47%) all cities, while partial (June increased decreased area. Significant reductions (37–77%) (33–70%) also observed throughout country lockdown. levels by 3–25% 2020 Rajshahi, Chattogram, Sylhet, Khulna, Barisal, Mymensingh, April 3–43% Dhaka, Bhola, 12–42% Rangpur. During June, (9–35%) Rangpur compared 2019. On other hand, increases ozone (O3) levels, with an average increase 3–12% only slight 1–3% In terms types, CALIPSO high polluted dust followed dust, smoke, continental, clean marine-type aerosols 2019, but types concludes that measures able significantly improve quality conditions Bangladesh due shutdown industries, vehicles, movement people.

متن کاملIndoor Air Pollution: Issues for Bangladesh
Exposure to indoor air pollution, resulting from the burning of biomass in homes (e.g. wood, agricultural residues, leaves and dung) has been linked to a number of acute respiratory infections (ARIs). ARIs are the biggest killer of children under five and responsible for 9% of the global burden of disease. This paper provides an overview of issues relating to indoor air pollution (IAP), describ...
متن کاملSpatiotemporal Interpolation Methods for Air Pollution Exposure
This paper investigates spatiotemporal interpolation methods for the application of air pollution assessment. The air pollutant of interest in this paper is fine particulate matter PM2.5. The choice of the time scale is investigated when applying the shape function-based method. It is found that the measurement scale of the time dimension has an impact on the interpolation results. Based upon t...
